FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DENVILLE, N.J. — November 06, 2026 — Local talent will have a direct pathway to practical skills in artificial intelligence and data science through a partnership between Proactive Risk, Inc., a Morris County-based cybersecurity and technology consulting firm, and County College of Morris (CCM). Through CCM’s AI and Data Science Registered Apprenticeship Program, participants will build skills in artificial intelligence, data analytics, cybersecurity, automation, governance and compliance.
The program brings Morris County talent into a Morris County business, combining full-time paid employment at Proactive Risk’s Denville office with structured college instruction through CCM and supervised, hands-on learning. The apprenticeship is part of the Machine Learning AI Data Scientist Registered Apprenticeship sponsored by the New Jersey Community College Consortium for Workforce and Economic Development. CCM was selected by the state as one of only two community colleges to partner with the AI Hub at Princeton University and the New Jersey Council of County Colleges in training the workforce to be proficient in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
“This is workforce development at the local level—educating talent here in Morris County, putting that talent to work here in Morris County, and building skills that can strengthen critical businesses across Northern New Jersey,” said Tom Brennan, CEO & Principal Consultant of Proactive Risk. “Our goal is to develop professionals who can apply AI, data science and cybersecurity responsibly to real business problems, including the needs of New Jersey’s manufacturing and defense industrial base.”
Apprentices will gain experience applying AI and data science to areas such as cyber risk assessment, compliance, vulnerability management, security operations, third-party risk, AI governance, analytics and automation. The program combines 2,000 hours of on-the-job learning with 225 hours of related technical instruction through CCM.
Proactive Risk also intends to connect this workforce-development effort with its broader work supporting manufacturers and organizations in the defense industrial base, helping strengthen the regional pipeline of professionals equipped to address cybersecurity, AI governance and compliance requirements.
